Kim Dohm

My name is Kimberly Dohm, and I have been a Registered Dietitian since 2003.  I studied at Berea College in Kentucky, graduating with a Bachelor of Art degree in Child and Family Studies with an emphasis in Nutrition. I went on to complete a Dietetic Internship at the University of Kentucky and became a Registered Dietitian in November of 2003.

I began my career as a clinical dietitian at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC.  At that time, I primarily worked in the acute care hospital setting, caring for a variety of patient's needs.  I had the opportunity to work with many specialty areas in the hospital, including oncology, nephrology, pediatrics, medical and surgical intensive care, and neurosurgical intensive care.    In 2005, I relocated back to Kentucky and began working in Food Services and Clinical Nutrition Management.  In 2010, I decided to take a break from management and start consulting as a Registered Dietitian to nursing homes and hospitals in the Louisville, KY area.  I have also served as the Registered Dietitian for hospice patients in the Louisville, KY  area.

I relocated to my husband's hometown in Western Kansas  in June of 2013 after his retirement from the military.  We have decided to make Grainfield our home to raise our four children.  Since being in Western Kansas, I have consulted in nursing homes and hospitals in the area as well as conducted health and wellness programs for local businesses.  I enjoy meeting new people and helping individuals with their dietary needs.  Adequate nutrition is vital to our health, and with all the fad diets and often times misleading information that is available to us regarding nutrition, it is very important that individuals and families have a reliable source of information for nutrition topics and diet therapies.  It is for this reason that I have joined Nutrition Now.  I am committed to helping others with their dietary needs, whether it is in a hospital, nursing home, assisted living facility, or with a family or individual.
